Randal Disappointment
I am a big fan of Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice”. I’ve seen every episode from season 2 until now. I have to say that this finale was a major disappointment. It wasn’t Donald Trump’s fault! The blame goes to the person I least expected… Randal.
Randal’s grandmother died early on in the season and from then on Randal has shined. Every task he did, he was exceptional. From episode 4 or 5, I predicted Randal winning it all. I was cheering for him during every show.
Tonight, I believe we had the opportunity to see true character come out. Up until this point, Randal has been a team player and a seemingly very humble guy. Put him against Rebecca in the final two and things change.
For those of you who don’t watch, Mr Trump hired Randal. After letting Randal celebrate for a moment, Mr Trump calls him back to the table. He asked Randal, “What do you think about me also hiring Rebecca?”. Randal says that there only needs to be one Apprentice.
Give me a break! I understand the logic; but, what the heck? Rebecca was right, Randal over thinks stuff sometimes. First, out of ALL the contestants from every season, Rebecca and Randal are THE BEST. They both deserve to get hired. Second, let’s all remember that Randal didn’t get to this position without Rebecca. As a team, they kicked tail and made it all the way to the final.
Rebecca and Randal are both stars and Mr Trump should’ve hired them both. Randal has lost major points in my book and I wish I never would’ve cheered for him.
The point of the whole job interview is to look for those ‘unforgivable’ mistakes. It’s a shame that Randal’s had to be after he was hired.
I will consider Rebecca the “True Apprentice” and I will forget I ever cheered for Randal.

Randal did the right thing. Because The Apprentice is a television show, he could have assumed that Mr. Trump would have given the crown to Rebecca, especially since the show always has one winner.
Besides, if NBC (who really chooses the Apprentice) really was going to hire both finalists, they would have done it. The choice regarding which person to hire definitely was made prior to the show. What Randal said had no bearing on Rebecca being hired.
Also, I believe that it would have been easier for Randal to make the politically correct choice of saying he would hire Rebecca, but how many people would go on a job interview and ask for their main competitor to get hired as well?
Randal is a jerk for doing that.
But Trump was really freaking me out tonight. I’m like, why is he asking Randal what to do? He didn’t ask the people beside him, he didn’t ask any of his other advisors, he asked the guy he just hired!
Next he’s going to be calling ME for decisions on what color tie to wear.
Old fart. Too old to run his own company, I guess.
how dare you put this on randal. trump is the one to blame. and you obviously have no clue if you think otherwise. it was a setup. stop being such a naive boob. this proves that race relations in america have not changed in the last 60 years. you’re just adding to the ignorance displayed. the guy has 5 degrees, runs 5 companies, yet he should share a job that has ALWAYS been about 1 hire with another? get real. you are hating on an individual that has aspired to greatness. get your head out of reality tv and join the real world.
Black people are supporting Randal in his decision. Others are being realistic. It’s a darn shame, too. Randal had such potential, but when he messed up, he messed up big. And all the black people have to say he DIDN’T mess up simply because he’s black.
“this proves that race relations in america have not changed in the last 60 years.”
uhm..what? I don’t think Randal did a bad thing. However I can see exactly why someone would think so and it has nothing to do with race.
Go play your race card somewhere else.
Randall blew it. He was a great competitor but clearly did not want to share the limelight with Rebecca, also a great competitor. He showed a distinct lack of character by failing to be magnaminous in victory, the only major mistake I thought that he made.
I predict that Randall will fade into obscurity, but I expect to hear from and see Rebecca again. I would even watch a financial channel to follow her career if she should become and anchor or reporter. Maybe MSNBC!
My thought on this:
Why do people feel that Randall should share the limelight? In the NBA finals last year, The Pistons were very very good. In many others year, they could have won the title. But they were beat by the Spurs 4 games to 3. What if after the Spurs hoisted up the trophy, David Stern stopped the party to ask the Spurs coach if Stern should also award the title to the Pistons, because of them having a remarkable regular season, and for playing so well in the Finals? What would the Spurs coach say? Of course he would say they won it fair and square, and should not have their tainted.
Also, why would Trump ask this of Randal? Shouldn’t he have asked that to George and Carol?
Yes, Rebecca was exceptional as well. Was Kwame not equally as exceptional in the first season? Yet Trump did not ask Bill, the winner, if he should hire Kwame as well. If we look at things today; Kwame just put together a holding company that has a multi-billion dollar real estate communit planning deal. Bill is making $250,000 as Trump’s hired hand.
What I would like to see, is all of the runnerups put on season 6 to get another chance.
Randal sucks. I think Donald is regreting his decision to hire the man.
Black men usually stand behind “brothers” and “sisters.” Had Rebecca been African-American, I have no doubt that Randal would have encouraged Trump to hire her as well. Instead, Randal indulged his considerable racism and revealed himself to be so incredibly and foolishly selfish.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one disappointed. Donald was clearly setting up the situation to hire both of them. I mean, this season, he did multiple firings, why not a multiple hiring?
What was equally ridiculous was giving Randal the choice. Although maybe he was setting Randal up to see what kind of an executive Randal was. When push comes to shove, he’s clearly not a team player, he’s out for #1.
