the children, the witch, the wardrobe (and a lion)
amy loves books: “The movie is absolutely beautiful: every snow covered branch, every red and gold, waving-in-the-breeze, lion-crested banner, every black-as-soot eyelash on every wide-eye of each one of the gorgeous children. My own kids really enjoyed it, but my husband and I were left feeling like something was missing.”
I saw the movie on Sunday and thought it was great; nonetheless, I totally agree with the review above. I recommend you read it!

Interesting take. I would have to say that I mostly agree with it. I do think the movie tried to portray the importance of Aslan, but I don’t think that they did it in the same way that C.S. Lewis did or would have wanted it. Aslan is Christ, and we as a whole have relegated Christ to the back pew of the church, rather than the forefront. It just goes to show you how much our society is warped and twisted. It hurts me to think that many advertisers are taking the Christ out of Christmas and just saying Happy Holidays instead. Where did this holiday come from? How did it get started? Do people not pay attention to that anymore? It makes me angry and idignant. I want more than ever for people to realize that it is in and through Christ alone that this world revolves. It is in him that we live, move, and have our being.
