How Bob Iger Saved Network TV – Blog Maverick – www.blogmaverick.com _

How Bob Iger Saved Network TV – Blog Maverick: “Content has been available for download for years and years. That content could be played on any number of devices, from computers to DVD players to PDAs. Being able to playback a video from the new Video Ipod just like you can play a song from a current IPod, certainly is not a technical marvel.

It is a business marvel. Bob Iger has gone contrary to what every current and previous TV network head has and would have done had Bob not turned the industry on its head with his announcement with Apple yesterday. Bob Iger has saved Network TV.”

This article is a great read and I think Mark Cuban is right on with it.

I wish Joss Whedon, creator of Firefly, would produce “download only” seasons of the show. I would be one of the first to purchase the shows off of ITunes.

Toilet Cleaning Instructions

December 22nd, 2005 1 comment

1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.

2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.

3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids. ** You may need to stand on the lid. **

4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.

5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a “power-wash” and rinse”.

6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.

7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.

8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.

9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.

Randal, still disappointed

December 16th, 2005 5 comments

I woke up this morning hoping my disappointment would fade; however, it didn’t.

I love all the comments I got with my post last night! I like the excitement. With that, I would like to clarify some things.

1. I cheered for Randal the past 10 episodes or so. It was only in the last 5 minutes of the show that I became disappointed in him. That does not mean I am racist. Give me a break. I don’t like John Kerry, I guess that means I hate white people too.

2. Randal deserved to be The ‘sole’ Apprentice. By all formalities, legalities and such… Randal deserved the title. I can understand that he doesn’t want there to be two apprentices; however, to completely not hire someone based on a contest and not sharing the glory is ridiculous. Any employee of a company should be focused on what will make the company succeed, not their own personal advantage or glory. It appeared to me that Randal was looking out for himself and his glory, not the Trump organization.

I will submit that he could’ve articulated his position alot better and got away with a clean get away. For example, he could’ve said something like “Mr. Trump, based on Rebecca’s performance during this job interview, she would definately make a great addition to the Trump organization. Nevertheless; in all fairness to the applicants and myself, I believe that there should only be one apprentice hired tonight.”

3. To use the analogy that Trump shouldn’t hire two people cause it’s a contest and there can only be one winner (like the NBA) is not what Trump is about. Trump even said that everyone considers this a game, but he doesn’t. This is his company he’s talking about. To hire two good people to an organization is good business.

4. NBC hires the Apprentice. Can you really see someone bossing Donald Trump around and telling him what he should do with his company? I don’t.

Anyhow… those are my quick thoughts. Comments are appreciated and enjoyed.
