Lenin’s million dollar body

October 31st, 2005 1 comment

I wish my dead body would be worth a million dollars!

If Vladimir Ilyich Lenin‘s body gets a date to move from the Moscow Kremlin, I will be booking a flight to Russia! I’ve been to the “Red Square“, but I’ve never been in the Kremlin. I think that’s one piece of history not to miss.

The NBA, its players and teams unveiled a new initiative called NBA CARES, Commissioner David Stern announced today. Through NBA CARES, the league, players and teams will raise and contribute $100 million for charity, donate more than 1 million hours of hands-on volunteer service to communities worldwide, and build more than 100 places where kids can learn and play over the next five years.

NBA Dress Code?

October 20th, 2005 No comments

Well, if you haven’t heard the news, the NBA has a new dress code. I think all the hype is really uncalled for. I haven’t gone to any business that does not have some sort of dress code. To ask a McDonalds employee not to wear certain clothing and to put on a uniform is not a bash on their character or individuality; rather, it’s an initiative to ensure that the company is represented in a manner that suits the brand or image of the company.

NBA players want to be taken seriously. Well, I recommend that they take themselves and the business they are in very seriously. If they stopped working in the NBA and worked any other job, they would be also asked to dress a certain way.

I think we are going to begin to see more creative fashions in the NBA. I already think Shaq is doing a good job of having individuality in his ‘business’ dress. I also believe that retailers are going to see some sales from all this.

I guess a year from now, we will know what this really meant.
