the declaration
This summer, on my missions trip with Global Expeditions, we had the “Declaration of a Worldchanger” which we read and said aloud every day. There is power in our words and as we begin to speak something, we begin to believe it in more and through that… it becomes a part of who we are and what we do.
Think about it, if you walk around all day saying you’re a loser, you’re going to start feeling like a loser; you’re going to start believing you’re a loser; and, by that point… the odds are high you will become a loser.
“TODAY, I WILL LIVE HONORABLY THROUGH MY THOUGHTS, ACTIONS, AND SPEECH. I CHOOSE TO BE FULL OF FAITH; I WILL NOT ONLY BE A HEARER BUT A DOER OF THE WORD OF GOD. I WILL SERVE BEFORE I DEMAND, I WILL LOVE AND NOT HATE, AND I WILL GIVE BEFORE I TAKE. TODAY, I CHOOSE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THIS WORLD AND TO BE A PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER THAN MYSELF. I CHOOSE TO DEDICATE MY LIFE TO PRAYER AND ASK GOD FOR HIS MIRACULOUS POWER AND THE COURAGE TO DO THE IMPOSSIBLE. I WILL MAKE GODLY RELATIONSHIPS A PRIORITY IN MY LIFE AS I ESTEEM OTHERS HIGHER THAN MYSELF. TODAY, I WILL LIVE MY LIFE IN SUCH A WAY THAT I WILL CHANGE THE WORLD!”

I agree… how you perceive yourself really does make quite a difference on who you are… it forms how you act and treat others and in turn how they treat you.
Awesome post!
This declaration is the anthem of a slodier of Christ and on my trip with GE this past summer I realized how amazing this paragraph can be. To really beleive it is how to start living it and the more you say it the easier it is to live it.
